In case you’re wondering how the name Napier came about, this museum is named after Lord Napier, the former Governor General of Madras.
This is one of the earliest museums in India, having been established by the Maharaja of what was then called Travancore in 1855.
Since the museum is only 10 minutes from our home, we often come here in the evenings and have chai. You’d also happen to see many people coming here for their evening walks and jogs.
